TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (MNA) – Iran’s Army Navy fleet has rescued an Iranian oil tanker from sea pirates in a point 120 miles off coasts of Yemen.

Army’s Navy Public Relations office informed Mehr News that the 32nd fleet of Iran’s Army’s Naval Forces comprising Jamaran destroyer and its escorting Bushehr destroyer had rescued an Iranian oil tanker from sea pirates in a point 120 miles off coasts of Yemeni port city of Al-Mukalla. The fleet was in mission to provide security of international sea routes in Indian Ocean after the joint drill Mohammad the Messenger of Allah.

The report also said that a group of sea pirate rapid boats in 120 miles off the southeastern coasts of Al-Mukalla attacked the oil tanker, when a team of Army’s Navy fleet reacted timely, and forcing the rapid boats to escape after the 32nd fleet’s heavy firing by Jamaran destroyer.

The 32nd fleet has so far rescued 4 such Iranian oil tankers from sea pirate attacks. The fleet has started mission from the Army’s First Operational Zone in Bandar Abbas, crossing many port cities of the Indian Ocean, notable among them are Masira Island, Ra’as al-Madraka, al-Mukalla, Gulf of Aden, Ra’as al-Erah in Djibuti, and Salalah port city of Oman.
