On Thursday morning, President Rouhani congratulated the new Christian year to all Christians especially Christians and Armenians of Iran; “we honor the nursing staffs of the sanatorium who serve the elderly people,” Rouhani added.
“We are all Iranians and believe in the Day of Judgment, and should serve the country’s entire elderly cohort regardless of their religion and faith,” he told the congregation of elderly and the nursing staff of Holy Mary Sanatorium, “both Islam and Christianity believe in birth, life, and the return of the Jesus Christ as God’s blessing to the world; he has a prominent and sublime place in Islam’s holy book Quran, and his mother has been honored in a chapter bearing in title her name, Maryam; a saint who is one of the select women of the history, and provided the best example for all women and humanity as well,” Rouhani praised Mary.
“I have the much-hoped for opportunity to attend this beautiful congregation in the eve of New Year and now I am happy that the opportunity came for me to attend a sanatorium bearing the name of mother of Christ,” president rejoiced to say.
“Serving humanity especially the elderly should be regardless of the religious, geographical and ethnic affinities of the people in need of care; all Iranians of all religion and faith share this common view,” he added.
