Nemat Allah Imamzadeh, Tajikistan's new ambassador to Iran, met with Iranian president Tuesday morning and presented his credentials to President Rouhani.
In the meeting, Rouhani said that had any regional country made progress it would have benefit the whole countries in the region.
Rouhani also pointed to close ties and the many cultural and linguistic similarities between Iran and Tajikistan and stressed on developing these ties in various areas.
He further mentioned his next-week visit to Tajikistan and said that in bilateral meetings with the top-ranking officials, implementation of previous agreements will be discussed in addition to regional cooperation and issues.
He added that there are diverse opportunities for cooperation between the two countries among public and private sectors.
Rouhani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran always supports peace and stability in Tajikistan and called for all-out expansion of ties among Persian-speaking countries.
Imamzadeh expressed Tajikistan's willingness for expansion of economic cooperation with Iran and hoped for increase in ties between the two countries.
Nemat Allah Imamzadeh had already met with Iranian foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday August 27 and had presented his credentials to him.
