The Laboratory is believed to provide necessary infrastructures for imaging and brain stimulation for cognition studies. The Presidential Deputy for Science and Technology, and Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Development Headquarters will launch the project to ‘provide efficient and up-to-date services in the field of cognitive sciences and technologies.’
National Brain Mapping Laboratory is an affiliate of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, which, in close cooperation with Ministry of Health, seeks to exploit the facilities and specialists as a consortium of universities and research and technology entities based on a permit granted by the Council for Expansion of Higher Education.
The statute of the Laboratory was drafted and confirmed in the joint meeting of Ministers of Science and Health, Presidential Deputy for Science and Technology, Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Development Headquarters Secretary, Ministry of Health Research and Education Deputies, and Head of Headquarters’ Research Group, and notified to the Council for Expansion of Higher Education.
The Laboratory will be managed by Board of Trustees, with members coming from Ministries of Science and Health and their research and technology deputies, Presidential Deputy for Science and Technology, and Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Development Headquarters Secretary. The Laboratory will serve research interests of universities and institutions active in science. University of Tehran has been decided as the first hosting center of the Laboratory.
The Laboratory has been equipped with necessary facilities.
