TEHRAN, July 23 (MNA) – Iran’s envoy to the UN has said what happens now in Palestine is the result of 6 decades of tacit concordance with the Zionist regime.

Addressing a UN Security Council meeting as the head of NAM, Gholamhossein Dehqani about the recent Zionist crime in Gaza Strip said that “Israel has committed oppression, invasion, mass murder, indiscriminate applying of brute force, seizure of Palestinian lands by establishing Jewish settlements, torment, illegal evacuation and razing of Palestinians’ houses.”

As NAM representative in the meeting, Dehqani expressed sympathy with the killed and injured ones due to the recent air strikes and land offensives are blatant violation of human rights.

He pointed to the number of killed and wounded people in Gaza who are mostly women and children, and strongly condemned Israel’s aggression on Gaza, calling on the international community for an urgent measure to supply humanitarian aids for Palestinians.

Dehqani held that rejection of UN request for ceasefire by Israel was in line with the defiance of demands by international community to end hostilities, which led to a precarious security arrangement in the region.

He maintained that all crimes of the Zionists had gone unpunished which was the result of UN and international community’s tepid reaction and once again urged them to take serious measures against Israel.

He added that the US Security Council should play more active roles to handle the crisis and to prevent the vicious circle of deadly violence and destabilizing of the region.
