TEHRAN, May 5 (MNA) – Iran’s Olympic Committee Executive Body has announced that they agreed on sending athletes of 20 sports to Incheon 2014 Asian Games in South Korea.

A session of Olympic Council  of Asian (OCA) executive board in Oman’s Muscat in December 2010 ratified the holding of 17thAsian Games in 36 sports (including 28 Olympic sport to be played in Olympic of 2016 in Brazil and 8 non-Olympic games) in Incheon, South Korea.

Skating, Board games (Chess, Shiang Chi, and Vichi), Billiard, Dragon Boat, and sport dance have been removed from this round of games list; however, they included compound bow archery for the first time in the games.

Iran’s sport caravan, however, would not participate in all 36 Olympic Games played in Asian Games; rather, it will attend in 20 sport games in Incheon 2014, exclusively agreed and confirmed by the National Olympic Committee and Ministry of Sport and Youth.

They agreed to send athletes in games where Iranian athletes are likely to win medals.

17th Incheon 2014 Asian Games will be held in South KoreaSeptember 18-October 1 2014. Non-Olympic games to be played in this round are baseball (men and women’s softball), bowling, cricket, kabaddi, karate, sepak takraw, squash, and wushu.
