“Night Bus” by Kiumars Purahmad is about an Iranian teenage combatant and a middle-aged soldier who are tasked to relocate a group of Iraqi prisoners of war by bus behind the front during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which in Iran is called the Sacred Defense.
