Iranian students shine at 23th FIRA RoboWorld Cup

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) – The head of Iranian FIRA National Committee said Sat. that Iranian robotics teams have displayed a great performance in the 2018 FIRA RoboWorld Cup in Taiwan.

A total of 35 Iranian robotics teams are participating in the 2018 FIRA RoboWorld Cup, which started on August 6 and will wrap up today August 11 in Taichung, Taiwan.

The head of Iran's National Robotics Committee, Fira, Dr. Soroush Sadeghnejad said that the students from the Amirkabir University of Technology shined in the university student section, and its AUTMAV team came third in the ‘Flying Robots’ contest after teams from China and Taiwan.

Meanwhile, Sadeghnejad added that in the under-19 category, the robotics teams from Danesh High School located in Tehran succeeded in overcoming all their opponents and won the ‘Urban Disaster Management’ section, while the Danesh EXPress, which is the team B from the same high school, won the second place in the same category.

The 23th FIRA RoboWorld Cup & Congress has attracted some 250 robotics teams from 20 different countries.
