“The Islamic Republic of Iran is the guarantor of the security of the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz and no one else is allowed to talk about the security of this region apart from us,” Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said on Monday on the sidelines of ceremony held in commemoration of late martyred major general pilot Abbass Babaei.
The Iranian military official further said that the enemies are afraid of Iran’s power because they are well aware of the country’s might.
The spokesman's comments come a day after the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that it had conducted naval drills in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz over the past days.
