Quadrilateral coalition holds security session in Iraq

TEHRAN, Jun. 14 (MNA) – The periodic meeting of the campaign against terrorist groups within the framework of quadrilateral security cooperation among Iran, Russia, Iraq and Syria was held in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Representatives of the four countries emphasized the need to continue and expand cooperation in fight against terrorism.

Lieutenant General Othman al-Ghanmi, Iraqi Army's Chief of Staff, appreciated the cooperation of Iran, Russia and Syria in last three years and described their role in defeat of terrorism as “effective.”

Brigadier General Mostafa Moradian, the Military Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq, called for cementing quadrilateral ties until the full destruction of terrorism.

He also said that a new season of fight against terrorism has started.

Providing Iraqi forces with data regarding the position of ISIL forces in Iraq and Syria were among the main and most successful results of these meetings, he told reporters after the meeting.
