1st Yinchuan-Tehran freight train starts travel

TEHRAN, Sep. 08 (MNA) – The first Yinchuan-Tehran freight train started its travel into Tehran from China on September 5 and will arrive in the destination after 15 days.

The first freight train of Yinchuan-Tehran has begun its travel into the capital of Iran from the rail station of this city located in Chinese Ning Shiyan autonomous region.

The Chinese train has started work according to ‘’New Silk Road’’ project and ‘’One Road-One Belt’’, introduced for international trade policy by the Chinese government.

This is the second train that is going to Tehran under the mentioned project. The last one arrived in Tehran last year after passing 10 thousands km within 14 days from Yi Wu city of China.

The Yinchuan-Tehran train started its travel to Tehran since September 05 after an official ceremony for the historicl event in the Chinese city, according to the International Department of RAI (The Iranian Railways).

This is the first rail connection between this mostly Muslim population autonomous region of China and Iran, carrying 50 freight containers including glass products, Vehicle spare parts, ceramic and other materials of construction industry.

RAI says that this train will  arrive to Tehran within 15 days by passing Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The Chinese government has promised to invest at least 124 billion dollars in the “New Silk Road” project.
