Ghadiri stated that the pilot phase of cooperation with the French firm had kicked off last year by inking a contract for exports of 200 tons of shrimp.

“Given high quality of Iranian shrimp in international markets and in view of earlier collaborations, a deal was signed for export-oriented production of 1,000 tons of the sea product in the present year,” the official continued.

The French company is a credible European firm active in several countries products of which are shipped to destinations in Europe as well as the US.

He went on to assert that, by the end of the ongoing year, the country will earn six million dollars through the contract and two million dollars via exports of fisheries and shrimp.

Ghadiri later pointed to significance of foreign investment in boosting the country’s share in international markets.
