Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in an interview with IRIB on Friday before wrapping up his two-day visit to Paris and returning to Tehran.
He maintained that during his talks with the French officials, the issue of MKO’s activities in Paris was raised, adding that the French side emphasized that they have no connection with the terrorist group.
“The MKO’s terrorist nature is not a secret to anyone, and all regional countries and European governments are fully aware of this fact,” Zarif said.
He went on to add, “giving permission to carry out activities to a group which is loathed by the Iranian people, has a dark history of assassinations, had sided with Saddam regime, and has been making attempts to carry out attacks on the Iranian soil leaves a black stain on the countries that cooperate with such groups.”
Zarif further expressed regret that “reactionary regimes in the region are once again capitalizing on this group as they did so in the past.”
“All such moves indicate the desperation of the Islamic Republic’s enemies who had to resort to cooperating with groups with no place among the Iranian nation in order to achieve their own sinister objectives,” Zarif stressed.
