Death toll rises to 17, terrorists’ identities revealed

TEHRAN, Jun. 08 (MNA) – Head of forensics said Thu. the number of people killed in Tehran terrorist attacks has risen to 17; meanwhile, Ministry of Intelligence said the identity of terrorists have been revealed.

Ahmad Shojaei, head of Iran’s department of forensics and legal medicine, said Thursday that the number of the martyred of the two terrorist attacks in Tehran has risen from 12 to 16, adding three of them were women and the rest were men.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Intelligence announced Thursday that the identity of all perpetrators of Tehran terrorist attacks has been revealed and will be disclosed to the media in a few hours. Minister of Intelligence Mahmoud Alavi said Thursday that certain aspects of the terror attacks cannot be disclosed at the moment. He added that it is too early to determine Saudi Arabia’s complicity in the attacks.

According to the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi, six of the terrorists have been killed and one has been arrested alive and is in custody of intelligence forces. Boroujerdi noted that the detained female terrorist is from southern parts of the country and her accomplices were from western Iran. He went on to add that the woman was not related to any of the other terrorists and was in charge of guiding them and providing them with sexual services.

On Wednesday, Iran’s parliament and mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran were hit in near-simultaneous attacks that have killed 16 people and wounded 52 others. Terrorist group ISIL has claimed responsibility for both attacks.
