Qatari Emir commends Rouhani on victory in election

TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) – Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, issued a message on Sunday evening congratulating President Rouhani on his return to the office.

Prime Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani as well as Deputy Emir of the Arab state Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani also cables separate messages to felicitate President Hassan Rouhani on his victory in Friday’s vote.

Winning over 23 million votes equal to 57% of the polls, Dr. Hassan Rouhani was elected as the President of Iran for a second term.

The 12th round of presidential elections were held simultaneously with the polls for city and village councils on Friday May 19 across Iran.
