The 15-strong outfit of young Iranian inventors managed to win six gold, six silver and two bronze medals at the 2017 edition of the event.
Iranian gold winners were Arman Yousefian, Shahriar Tavousi, Gholamreza Yousefian and Masoud Shafaghi for the ‘Nano filter installed on the bottle of mineral water orifice and physical filtration’, Morteza Eskandari for ‘design and prototyping the advanced bicycle system’, Amirreza Piri for ‘design and prototyping one-time use (disposable) power banks used in portable electronic devices’, Mohammad Ahmadi, Yasin Chamaeinejad and Hesamadin Tohidi for ‘squat toilet sanitation ergonomic design with modern amenities’ as well as Mohammad Salehi for ‘smart eyeglasses’.
Silver medals for the Iranian team were secured by Yasin chamaeinejad, Hesamadin Tohidi and Mohammad Ahamdi Siahpoosh for ‘design and prototyping system of automatic pay toll in roads’ and ‘design and prototyping thermal power generation systems and reducing vehicle fuel consumption’, Katayoon Pishgahi for ‘smart rubber resistant to heat and fraction’, Elehe Habibnia for ‘pollutant-absorbent filters for factories’, Amir Arab for ‘instant recycling system for pet bottles, change the form to sculpture or doll’, Leila Shahmohammadi for ‘electric mixer food while cooking device that helps us’, Ghazaleh Mirzaei for ‘intelligent window’, Abolfazl Pishdad for ‘design and prototyping thermos for heating and keeping water for different uses’.
Also, Melika Delafrouz with ‘smart wallet’ and Mohammad Mobin Keshavarz with ‘ventilation systems protect health’ succeeded in snatching two bronze medals.
ITEX is one of the largest annual exhibitions on inventions. This year more than 850 inventors from 25 different countries participated in the exhibition's various scientific and technical fields.
Hosted by Malaysia, the 2017 edition convened in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center from 11-13 May.
