He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Syrian Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province, on Monday.
Salehi Amiri said we have made all our political efforts to show the true face of Islam to the world.
“Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei highly regards Syrian security and combat against terrorism,” he continued.
Pointing to the destruction of most of Syria's cultural heritage by terrorists and extremist groups, Salehi Amiri expressed hope that in the near future Syria could eradicate terrorism and return peace to the country when cultural activities can enhance between Iran and Syria.
Salehi underlined Iran and Syria enjoy ties in the cultural field with a long history and there exists broad cultural interests between the two countries.
Syria's tourism minister also stressed the depth of relations between the two countries.
Yazigi said Iran and Syria agree on fighting the terrorist groups such as ISIL, which showed the violent face of Islam to the world.
Underlining the expansion of ties between Iran and Syria, he referred to Mashhad as the cultural capital of the Islamic world, adding the event of “Cultural Capital of Islamic World” could be a turning point for holding other Islamic events in Iran.
The event will be held on Tuesday attended by 250 cultural and political figures from 51 countries in holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province.
