Parl. to act on US sanctions extension

TEHRAN, Dec. 03 (MNA) – Head of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has said US has been under the pressure by Zionist lobbies in extension of sanctions against Iran.

Mr. Alaeddin Boroujerdi told news center of Iran’s state TV and Radio broadcaster on Saturday that Parliament would initiate action in response to US extension of sanctions against Iran beginning on Sunday; “we will not allow the US to be a decision-maker about Iran’s national interests in line with implementing Saudi or Zionist dictated policies in the Middle East; JCPOA is not a bilateral agreement with the US, but it is an accord with 6 international parties, all of which had become committed by the very provisions of JCPOA; so, the US officials are not the only authority in JCPOA and would not undermine it unilaterally,” he added.

“Congress had been under the pernicious effect of Zionist lobbies in its decision; they pay lavish amounts to dictate their policies to American politicians; Foreign Ministry should be more active and involved according to the necessities of the situation to address possible preventive measures,” he demanded. “Saudi Arabia and Israel would rejoice to see sanctions are extended; however, we have Parliament, a great asset of the nation and as defenders of national glory, it will act in mandating the government to implement Islamic Republic of Iran Government's Reciprocal and Proportional Action in Implementing the JCPOA Act passed earlier in October 2015,” Boroujerdi asserted, “a triple-urgency bill of last week is in Parliament to confront US violations of JCPOA.”

“All bodies involved should act in coordination and harmony; on Sunday session, the Commission will address the issue as priority to think out necessary measures; nation as well has great capacity to work with Parliament in going ahead with the issue. All capacities will be exhausted in protecting our rights and in response to US plots,” he concluded.
