Addressing Lebanese newly elected President Michel Aoun in a message, President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran offered his ‘most sincere congratulations’ to the new Lebanese President. The official website of President Rouhani released the letter late on Wednesday.
“Doubtlessly, your position at the Lebanese chair of presidency promises an age of prosperity and power for the country in both domestic and foreign realms and symbolizes the strength of unity and the self-sacrificial and resistant mood of the Lebanese nation,” reads the opening of President Rouhani’s message.
Mr. Rouhani voiced firm assurance that, during Aoun’s presidency, the bilateral ties between ‘the friendly and brotherly states of Iran and Lebanon’ will develop more than ever.
He closed the message with wishing health and success for Aoun and honor and welfare for the Lebanese nation.
