'Abji' awarded at Herat Intl. Women's Filmfest.

TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) – Iranian film 'Abji', directed by Marjan Ashrafizadeh, won the Best Film Award at 4th Afghanistan International Women Film Festival.

The movie was selected as the Best Film of the festival, held on October 19-22.

French movie Accidental directed by a French director won the prize for the Best Film Director in the festival.

Russia's Worth grabbed the prize for the Best Actress, Lebanon's Blind Cathedral won the Best Actor Award and Russia's Unschooled got the award of the Best Scenario.

The 4th edition of Afghanistan International Women Film Festival showcased movies from Afghanistan, Iran, the US, Germany, Kazakhstan, Portugal, South Korea, India, Myanmar, Turkey, France, Egypt, Italy, Britain, Belgium, Russia, Lebanon, Vietnam, China and Bangladesh.

The event praised internationally acclaimed Iranian film director and screenwriter Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and Iranian star Mahnaz Afshar.
