Iran urges UN to impartially solve global crises

TEHRAN, Sep. 05 (MNA) – Iran’s Deputy FM Hossein Jaberi Ansari said the United Nations is expected to take unbiased standards and human efforts to put an end to the current crises across the world.

Speaking among reporters after a meeting with UN Humanitarian Chief Stephen O’Brien on Monday, Jaberi Ansari said the set of crises happening in the region are humanitarian disasters; in Yemen, as an instance, we are facing a genocide.

"While under heavy siege, the genocide is conducted by Saudi criminals constantly bombing civilian communities and mass killings of defenseless and innocent children and women," he said.

He pointed to the other humanitarian disasters taking place in Syria and Iraq, saying "we discussed the humanitarian issues in these countries and the cooperation to control the dimensions of regional crises," adding, "Iran has been dealing with critical issues in the region for years and has played an important role in managing the crises and urging other countries to help solve prevailing problems."

"Humanitarian dimension of the regional crises are important for Islamic Republic from humane, Islamic and moral points of view; I stressed the complicated nature of regional crises, hoever, the first issue to focus on is the security to prevent the spread of terrorism and extremism," Jaberi Ansari underlined.

He continued "the other important issue is the political dimension, which is related to demands for political reforms in some regional states.

Underlining the necessity of sending immediate humanitarian aid, he said the UN is expected to provide the ground for taking both political and security issues at the same time to provide the possibility of ending the current crises.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the ways to manage and resolve the current crisis in the region.
