Queiroz names squad for Italy trip

TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – The manager of Iran’s national football team called up 25 players for the preparatory trip of the Persian Cheetahs to Italy.

Portuguese manager of Iran's national football team, Carlos Queiroz, released a call-up announcement of 25 players late on Thursday to show up at Tehran’s Azadi Hotel at 4:00 pm on Friday.

The new squad will travel to Italy for a preparatory camp before the World Cup Qualification events against Qatar and China.

Queiroz has reassured that his final roster for the formal games of Qualification will be decided at the end of the Italy tour.

Goalkeeper: Alireza Beyranvand, Mohammadreza Akhbari, Rashid Mazaheri.

Defenders: Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, Pejman Montazeri, Morteza Pourali Ganji, Mohammad Tayyebi, Ehsan Hajsafi, Ramin Rezaeian, Pourya Ghafouri, Saeid Aghaei, and Mohammad Ansari.

Midfielders: Andranik Teymourian, Kamal Kamyabinia, Darioush Shojaeian, Omid Ebrahimi, and Ezzatollah Pourghaz.

Forwards: Ashkan Dejagah, Rahim Zahivi, Mehdi Torabi, Vahid Amiri, Mehdi Taromi, Ehsan Pahlavan, Soroush Rafiei, and Morteza Tabrizi.
