Bahram Ghasemi told reporters on Monday that JCPOA had constituted the sole topic of negotiation between Iran and the US.
John Brennan of CIA had reportedly speculated that negotiations between Iran and the US would go beyond the mere nuclear program. Ghasemi roundly rejected the claim or speculation, believing that the remarks had sought to weaken national unity among the Iranians and that Foreign Ministry believed that such misguided efforts would bring nothing special to the US in polarizing the Iranian society; “such remarks will not find eager ears and eyes, since our people are too smart to be deceived by remarks which target specific ends and which are well-orchestrated,” he told the press.
Ghasemi also said that Iran would support its national interests and unity mindless of such contrived classifications and denominations by the western intelligence machinery; “apart from nuclear program, no other topic had been addressed in bilateral meetings with US officials,” Mr. Ghasemi emphasized.
In a related story, Ghasemi condemned terrorist blast in Afghanistan’s Kabul; “terrorism has been a device in the hands of countries investing politics of the region to secure thier national interests; international toleration of terrorism has made it brazen enough to wreak havoc on countries in the region, with supporting countries rejoicing their adventurism albeit bloody and destructive,” he told the press during an address to officially react to Afghan terrorist blasts.
Ghasemi implicated Wahhabism and Takfirism on modern edition of terrorism; “a devised sect of Islam with dark record in murder, plunder, violence, slavery, devastation of religious shrines and historical monuments, the Wahhabism is rooted in Saudi ruling dynasty and this country had invested billions of oil money to spread the evil ideology which has now threatened the whole humanity,” he objected. “No attempt other than global strong resolve would pin down the unfathomably dark nature of this evil phenomenon.”
