Rouhani reiterated that friendly ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Swiss Confederation have always been growing under the historical background and the existing potential and expressed the hope that the two sides could widen bilateral ties in all fields.
Iranian president also pointed to travel of the Swiss president to Iran in late February, 2016, describing it as a solid base for deepening bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian president wished prosperity and success for the Swiss nation.
Since 1891, the first of August has been celebrated as Swiss National Day. The date refers to a historic alliance concluded in 1291 by the three cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden.
