6th Intl. Festival held in University of Tehran

TEHRAN, May 28 (MNA) – The Festival with the motto “University: A Rainbow of Cultures” brought together Iranian and international lecturers, international student representatives, university authorities, ambassadors, and other dignitaries.

Prof. Nili Ahamadabadi, the President of University of Tehran, said at the ceremony that what makes students eager to participate in the activities is the peace, friendship and love that they give to the world as a university student.

He said the main task of a university is to develop science, technology and knowledge, adding the development of science has increased prosperity across the world.

“Unfortunately, on the other hand, the difference between rich and poor has been more than ever,” he stressed noting that the knowledge has prevented war and strife among the world's people. “That’s why perhaps science is not used as a diplomacy,” he underlined.

Prof. Nili Ahamadabadi said, “our motto is science diplomacy for friendship and peace between nations.”

Professors, researchers and top international students and activists in the field of international cooperation were praised during the event.

The ceremony was held at Chamran Hall, College of Engineering, University of Tehran, located at the Central Campus at Enghlab Avenue.
