Rouhani felicitates Togo Natl. Liberation Day

TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé over the country’s National Day on Tuesday.

In a message to Gnassingbe, President Rouhani expressed hope that the two countries would expand bilateral ties in future in all fields.

President Rouhani also wished prosperity and success for the Togolese government and nation.

Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north.

Independence for French Togoland, which later became the Togolese Republic, came in 1960 under Sylvanus Olympio.
