Zarif condemns Brussels terrorist blasts

TEHRAN, Mar. 23 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strongly denounced Tuesday terrorist explosions in Belgian capital.

In a phone conversation with his Belgian counterpart Didier Reynders, Iran’s Zarif extended his condolence and sympathy to the government and nation of Belgium as well as the families of the victims.

“Terrorism and extremism are global issues and need global will and action to be confronted,” reaffirmed Foreign Minister Zarif.

At least 31 are dead and more than 220 injured after explosions at Zaventem airport and at Maelbeek metro station near EU buildings in Belgian capital on Tuesday.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for the triple blasts.
