Famous Indonesian painter grants art work to FM Zarif

TEHRAN, Mar. 07 (MNA) – Famous Indonesian painter Jeihan Sukmantoro donated one of his artwork as a sign of Muslims peace and friendship to Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Sukmantoro has been influenced by Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi’s thoughts in creating much of his works.

A relative of Sukmantoro, on behalf of the mystic painter who is incapable due to frailties of old age, granted one of his indelible paintings to Zarif at the venue of the fifth extraordinary meeting of OIC on Monday.

The art work depicts pilgrims who stay at Muzdalifah preceded by a day at Arafat.

Indonesian painter’s representative explained Sukmantoro highly respects Dr. Zarif for his efforts in promoting peace in the Muslim world and while informed he is in Jakarta granted this piece of art as a symbol of peace and unity of Muslims to the Iranian foreign minister.

Heading an eco-political delegation, Zarif started his Southeast Asia and Oceania tour on Saturday evening and arrived in the Indonesian capital on Sunday morning for the summit.
