Russian Helicopters participating in Trade and Industrial Dialogue

TEHRAN, Dec. 21 (MNA) – Russian Helicopters Holding Company taking part in the Russian National Industrial Exhibition - Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia – Iran 2015, which is being held under the supervision of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in Tehran, December 21-23.

During the exhibition, the holding company will showcase Russian civilian helicopters. The headliner of the exhibition is new Mi-171A2 helicopter; Ka-32A11VS and a light model Ka-226T will also be featured.

Russian Helicopter’s position in the Middle Eastern market has been traditionally strong. Today, there are more than 500 military and civil Soviet and Russian helicopters operating in the region. The core of the helicopter fleet is made of the legendary Mi-8/17 series, which is known for versatility and high performance characteristics throughout the world. There are more than 50 such helicopters in Iran, as noted by Alexander Mikheev, the CEO of Russian Helicopters. “We are planning to strengthen business ties with our partners in the Middle East and promote cooperation as to supplies of modern helicopters, after-sales service and modernization,” said Mikheev.

The new multipurpose Mi-171A2 helicopter that will be shown at the expo is a completely modernized version of the legendary “8-series” and is one of the top projects of Russian Helicopters. The new helicopter combines all the major advantages of the Mi-8/17 series with the latest solutions in materials, instrumentation and control systems. The helicopter is equipped with more powerful engines and a new carrier system. The developers also took care of the ecologically minded performance and decreased noise levels. Mi-171A2 can be effectively used at high altitudes, high humidity and high temperatures. On-board navigation equipment makes it possible to successfully operate the helicopter at any time of day or night, in all weather conditions, as well as above water.

In addition, the expo visitors will be shown the multipurpose Ka-32A11VS helicopter. It has a vast scope of applications: passenger and cargo transportation, installation and construction works, firefighting, search-and-rescue, survival and patrol operations. The helicopter has all needed attachment kits that can be installed depending on the mission.

Russian Helicopters will feature its light Ka-226T for the first time in Iran. It has a coaxial main rotor system. The helicopter is praised for excellent controllability and power-to-weight ratio and is equipped with modern flight control equipment. It easily maneuvers in dense urban and mountainous areas. Absence of an anti-torque rotor and compact size make it possible to use small landing pads. For the needs of medical aviation, both helicopters are produced in medical editions.

For the event, the company have scheduled meetings and negotiations with representatives of the Iranian government and private companies.  It will take part in negotiations with Aviation Industries Organization, Fanavaran Asemani, PARS Aviation Service, and Interavia. The parties will discuss prospects of supplying the Mi-8/18 type helicopters, Ka-32A11VS and Ka-226T, as well as after-sales services, including modernization, supplies of spare parts and repairs, and personnel training.  Supply of light Ka-226T helicopters in medical edition will be negotiated with the Red Crescent Society of Iran.

Russian Helicopters will discuss a launch and development of the after-sales servicing system with Iranian Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC) (aka PANHA as in its Persian acronym). The servicing system will be based on the existing aircraft repairs plant and a service center. In mid-November, the parties signed contracts on delivery of spare parts and technical assistance in equipping the service and repair center for the Mi-8/17 civil helicopters. Setting up such service and repair systems in world’s every region is one of the key objectives of the holding company.

Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia – Iran 2015 is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The event is aimed at adding momentum to the development of Russian-Iranian trade and economic relations and boost the positions of the Russian industry in Iran.
