Iran urges Moscow-Ankara reciprocal respect

TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (MNA) – After the mounting war of words between Russia and Turkey incited by downing of Russian jet by Turkey, Iran’s FM spokesman called on the two sides to maintain reciprocal respect.

With Moscow and Ankara firing salvo in their mounting war of words, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari invited the neighbors to more dignified and respectful behavior.

He called for avoiding adventurism and bounding to political responsibilities in dealing with regional and neighboring issues.

"Following policies which intentionally or unintentionally contribute to the growth of terrorism in Iraq and Syria will just worsen the crisis in the region and pile up the troubles of the followers of those policies," affirmed the Iranian diplomat.

He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the change of those policies undertaken by some countries and the unanimity of all regional countries in the war on terror and extremism.
