Roknabadi’s body identified

TEHRAN, Nov. 25 (MNA) – The body of Iranian foreign ministry diplomat has eventually been identified among the victims of Mina Tragedy.

Iran’s former Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi’s body, who was among the missing pilgrims in Mina incident, has been recognized among the dead bodies.

Following the sabotage of the Saudi regime in identifying the missing pilgrims in Mina disaster, two of Roknabadi’s brothers together with his daughter travelled to Saudi Arabia last week to closely pursue the issue.

Roknabadi’s body was identified by performing specialized blood tests on his first-degree relatives complying the results with the dead bodies of those killed in the disaster; currently, the final stages of his transfer to Tehran is being undertaken which will most likely take place on Thursday.

Apparently, Roknabadi has been among the first batch of killed pilgrims in Mina accident who were buried in Mecca.

Immediately after the incident and while the Iranian diplomat had gone missing, the Saudi media, particularly Al Arabiya, launched a wave of lies the most prominent of which was the denial of Rokanadi’s entry to Saudi Arabia and his presence in Hajj rituals.

Ghazanfar Roknabadi was one of the most committed, experienced and revolutionary forces who had spent 14 years of his working life in Syria and Lebanon being in direct contact with the axis of resistance forces.
