Launched for the first time in 2014 following the suggestion of Iran, this year’s event will be attended by representatives of foreign countries as well as three Iranian teams and there is significant prize money involved in this dual-meet event with the winning team receiving $50,000 while the second-place team will earn $30,000 with the third-place squad collecting $20,000.
The World Wrestling Union’s representatives have also been introduced to the Free style world wrestling clubs Cup.
According to the terms of the participating teams in freestyle wrestling competition at the world wrestling clubs Cup, Iran’s Reza Yazdani, Komeil Ghasemi and Masoud Esmaeilpour, who had attended the Baku Grand Prix, will be allowed to take part in the tournament and all present Iranian teams can hire the aforementioned wrestlers.
The US team Titan Mercury Wrestling Club will also compete at the event in Iran looking to build on its second-place finish from 2014.
The Titan Mercury/US team is comprised of wrestlers from Titan Mercury, in addition to other American clubs and under rules of the competitions the team can use up to two international wrestlers from a foreign country on their roster.
The competitions will be conducted under UWW regulations in 2015 Free style in senior 8 weight categories in Azadi Sport Complex on November 26-27.
The Greco-Roman World Wrestling Clubs Cup will also be held in the city of Khorramshar, Iran on December 17–18.
