Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani who arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday met with Pakistani Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz after his meeting with Pakistani Adviser on National Security Lieutenant General Naseer Khan Janjua.
Shamkhani and Aziz underlined on all-out deepening of Iran-Pakistan relations in all realms of security, economy, culture and politics during the meeting.
Cooperation on fighting terrorism and cooperation on stabilizing the regional security were among the major topics discussed in both sittings of Shamkhani on Wednesday.
Pakistani sources reported that Aziz briefed Shamkhani on measures taken by Pakistan to resolve the mayhem in Afghnistan.
“Pakistan’s stance is very much clear that its soil would not be used against any country,” Aziz was quoted by Daily Pakistan website.
Later in their joint press conference, the two sides stated the determination of both Tehran and Islamabad in resolving the issue of Taliban and Afghan crisis extending hand to help Afghan government out of trouble.
Cooperation between Iran’s Chabahar and Pakistan’s Gwadar ports were also evaluated positive in the following press conference.
Visiting Iranian official is slated to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday in the last day of his two-day visit to the neighboring country.
