Italian officials visit 'Comprehensible Mentality'

TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (MNA) – Italian ambassador to Tehran and head of famous Italian museum have visited an exhibition held in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

Mauro Konchater, Ambassador, and Giovanna Melandri, President of MAXXI - National Museum of the 21st Century Arts of Rome visited the exhibition, where Ms. Milandri described the art pieces of the museum as ‘eye-catching’ and ‘brilliant’ which enjoyed ‘a different and peculiar physical arrangement.’

“Such an exhibition is quite parallel to the similar events in greatest museums of the world; the smart arrangement and deliberate and purposive array of the pieces is astonishing; the texts chosen also contribute to the overall theme of the exhibition,” she emphasized.

“The exhibiton is beyond the imagination of a western visitor, and clearly shows that Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art works in par with other famous centers of the art around the world; however, such level of activity should be publicized by foreign media,” Melandri said, adding that her fellow museum would welcome cooperation with Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art as a strong step toward more cultural and artistic ties between Tehran and Rome.

Italian Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Konchater for his part believed that cultural and artistic activities were quite helpful to improve bilateral ties, expressing hopes that the new era of artistic cooperation would be on the horizon for both countries.

Majid Mollanowrouzi, head of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art expressed interests in such cultural ties as well by Iranian side; "Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art is capable of holding an exhibition in cooperation with Italian museums according to global standards of excellence; this is one of the best exhibitions ever held by the Museum; the sheer diversity and multiplicity of the pieces make possible diversity of arrangements,” he told his Italian guests.

He also hailed holding of ‘Unedited History’ exhibition by the MAXXI museum, which dedicated itself to Iranian contemporary art, and proposed holding of similar exhibitions with direct supervision of Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art to help ‘present an accurate and better image of Iranian contemporary art’ to the public.
