Iranian Wrestlers traveled for several hours to arrive in Los Angles on Friday evening in local time and they are scheduled to resume their training session in this city preparing for the World Cup and the Olympic qualifyers.
Iran has representatives in all the 8 wrestling weights.
The World Wrestling Championships (Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling), scheduled for September 7 – 12, 2015 will be held in Las Vegas, US.
The world’s best wrestlers from more than 100 countries will vie for world titles as well as qualifying spots for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. This is the first time since 2003 the Wrestling World Championships are being held in the United States, after New York and Madison Garden played host.
Competition in all three Olympic styles of international wrestling will be held: men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman.
The event is hosted by United World Wrestling, the international governing body for the sport of wrestling, USA Wrestling, the national governing body for the sport of wrestling in America, the US Olympic Committee, and Las Vegas Events.
