Zarif to visit Tunisia, Algeria on Mon.

TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (MNA) – In his third round of regional tours after the recent nuclear deal, Iranian FM Zarif will leave for north African countries on Monday.

Following the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif launched his first round of regional tour on July 26 to Kuwait, Qatar and Iraq with the aim to promote ties with regional counties. He then visited Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan and India in the second round of his regional tour launched on 12 August.

Now in the third round, Zarif will pay an official visit to the North African countries of Tunisia and Algeria on Monday.

During these visits, the sides will review strategies to promote bilateral relations as well as the latest regional and international developments. The Iranian diplomat will also discuss the significance of political solutions to crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya.

Zarif will also confer with Tunisian and Algerian senior officials on the results of the nuclear agreement and define the Islamic Republic’s principled policies in strengthening ties with regional countries.

Zarif also visited Russia on August 17 and discussed with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov the Iranian nuclear program and peace efforts in Syria.
