“Mazar Sharif” to vie at Georgia BIAFF

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – Hassan Barzideh’s feature film “Mazar Sharif” will be screened at the 10th Batumi International Art-house Film Festival (BIAFF) in Georgia.

Mazar Sharif, directed by Hassan Barzideh, is to compete for top prizes at the 10th edition of Batumi International Art-house Film Festival (BIAFF) in Georgia.

Barzideh’s feature film narrates the true story of the 1998 massacre of 10 Iranian diplomats by Taliban militants in the Afghan city of Mazar Sharif.

The film features Hossein Yari, Mahtab Keramati and Masoud Rayegan as its main characters.  

According to the festival’s website, BIAFF aims to enhance cultural exchange, understanding, and collaboration through the screening of new art-house and non-commercial films from Georgia and abroad.

The 10th edition of the BIAFF will take place from September 12-19, 2015 in Batumi, Georgia.
