Iran never to reconcile US: Cleric

TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (MNA) – Addressing worshipers during Tehran Friday Prayers, Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani elaborated on Iran-US relationship.

Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahedi Kermani held the weekly Friday Prayers in Tehran on this Friday commenting on the Iran-US relationship after the nuclear agreement of July 14.

One of key issues in this week sermon of the cleric was the unity among Shias and Sunnis as Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani referred to the latest remarks made by Iran’s Leader on the dangers of discord among Muslims.

The top cleric called disunity the third punishment of God according to Quran as the punches to be blown to enemies are now blown between Muslims.

He reiterated Iran’s Leader's disapproval of those insulting the Sunni beliefs and called them wrong-doers who mistakenly believe in what they do.

The Grand Ayatollah called the MI6-supported Shia irrelevant to real Shia calling it mercenary of the US and the UK who aim to wedge between shias and Sunnis.

He then touched upon the US policy toward Iran, saying that after the expulsion of the Americans from Iran they have been seeking return in all these years trying to infiltrate into Iran through their economic, political and cultural influence while Iranians have never let them success.

They think the Vienna agreement of July 14 would pave the way for their return to the region to restore their influence over the Middle East countries, but they have been wrong and "there is no way for them to return and Iran will continue its support for Palestine and its oppressed people," asserted theFriday Prayers leader.

"Nuclear deal with the 5+1 does not mean reconciliation with US," Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani said in his Friday prayers sermons.

Praising the negotiating team, he said the negotiators expressed Iran's logic to the world and proved that the anti-Iranian sanctions were illegal and Iran's nuclear activities were quite peaceful.

Iran's indigenous scientific progresses forced other parties to the nuclear talks to accept Iranian team's demand including the removal of sanctions, the cleric asserted.

Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani also voiced regret that Arrogant powers have created massive media giants brainwashing people all over the world and called for an action to confront this. He urged Muslims to be vigilant towards enemies' divisive plots, adding that Iran will not give up its support for the regional resistance movements including the Palestinian nation.
