Investors in Zahedan fully protected by police

ZAHEDAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – The police commander of Sistan and Baluchestan Province said the security of all investors in this border city is guaranteed by the police.

Commander of the Law Enforcement Police in the Southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan Hossein Rahimi gave reassurance about the security of investors in Zahedan, saying the police force is fully prepared to support and protect them in the border city.

He mentioned the discovery of 90 percent of petty and serious crimes from March to July, 2015, saying “comparing the performance of the police force during the same period of time in 2014 shows a 60 percent increase in discovering crimes.”

Rahimi further added that the occurrence of crime in Sistan and Balouchestan from March to July 2014 was 19 percent, but the figure has dropped to 16 percent in the same span of time this year.

Zahedan is located near Pakistan and Afghanistan. In February 2013, Iran and Pakistan signed a security agreement under which both countries are required to cooperate in preventing and combating organized crime, fighting terrorism and countering the activities that pose a threat to the national security of either country.

The two countries hold a Joint Border Meeting every six month either in Sistan-Baluchestan or in Quetta, Pakistan to discuss border security issues.
