‘A Time for Love’ written by Roya Mohaghegh, directed by Alireza Raeisian and featuring Leila Hatami and Shahab Hosseini, took home the Cristal Simorgh for Best Screenplay in Iran’s 33rd Fajr International Film Festival. With a major theme of unwanted pregnancy of a couple, ‘A Time for Love’ juxtaposes the ups and downs experienced by two people locked in a stormy relationship with a social commentary about Iran.
Raeisian is an acclaimed film director, producer and screenwriter whose films have won him many international awards.
The 39th Montreal World Film Festival will be held from August 27 to September 7. The annual event aims at encouraging cultural diversity, promoting innovative works and discovering new talents. It is also the only competitive film festival in North America recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
