Iran's IAEA envoy:

IAEA report repeats baseless PMD allegations

IAEA report repeats baseless PMD allegations

TEHRAN, May 30 (MNA) – An Iranian official says the latest IAEA report repeats previous allegations about the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) in Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran’s Ambassador to the IAEA Reza Najafi said the IAEA’s repeated allegations about the possible military dimensions (PMD) in Iran’s nuclear program not only adds credibility to the allegations but rather undermines its whole authenticity.

“The latest report, when compared to earlier ones, shows the IAEA has nothing new to present concerning the implementation of the Safeguards Agreement in Iran,” said Najadi, adding that the new report has the same content as that of the previous ones only with different figures.

He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the report for presenting unnecessary technical details on the locations, number and type of centrifuges, frequent inspections, samplings and their results; “as has been repeated many times, NAM is strongly opposed to the release of the technical details but the IAEA continues as before.”

In connection with practical implementation of Framework for Cooperation, Najafi maintained that Iran has made considerable progress and the IAEA’s official statement has even described the discussions as ‘constructive’; "we believe that that part of the report is incomplete; it is not a full reflection of the facts,” he explained.

Najafi also pointed out that the report, issued to the IAEA’s 35-nation board and the UN Security Council, attests that all of Iran’s atomic activities and its nuclear facilities have been under the close supervision of the UN nuclear agency, and have had no diversion from peaceful purposes.
