MNA hosts conf. on military site inspection ban

TEHRAN, May 25 (MNA) – Mehr News Agency is hosting a press conference today on the topic of the prohibition of foreign inspection of Iran’s military sites and interrogation of Iranian nuclear scientists.

The press conference dubbed ‘An Exercise in Honor: No to Inspection & Interrogation’ is currently being held in Mehr News Agency with the attendance of a number of political and media figures.

Mohammad Hossein Saffarharandi, Ahmad Tavakoli, Elias Naderan, Mohammad Saeid Ahadian, Mehdi Fazaeli, Alireza Zakani and Alaedin Boroujerdi will be discussing the parameters of a good nuclear agreement and stressing the country’s dissent to any foreign inspection of military sites as well as any interview with its nuclear scientists.

Other political figures may also attend the conference.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmirmed that "the Islamic Republic would not allow any inspection of its military sites by foreign agents."

“They [the West] demand to be permitted to interview our nuclear scientists; this means interrogation. I will not allow any foreigners to interrogate the nation’s respected scientists,” Ayat. Khamenei asserted.

Washington has threatened "not to sign" a final nuclear agreement with Tehran unless the Iranian government gives access to its possible military dimension-related sites and nuclear scientists.

"If we don’t get the assurances we need on the access to possible military dimension-related sites or activities, that’s going to be a problem for us," State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said in Washington on Wednesday.
