Military intervention no key to Yemen crisis: Larijani

TEHRAN, May 06 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament speaker rejected claims that military intervention sought to solve Yemen’s problem.

While stressing that military intervention would not solve Yemen’s problem, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani emphasized that the crisis in the Arab country could only be solved through Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue and negotiations.

Ali Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hossein Sadeghi.

Stressing the need for political dialogue between the various political groups in Yemen, Larijani called for an end to the military attacks on Yemen and the bombing of defenseless people and the destruction of infrastructure and facilities of the impoverished country.

Underlining that Yemen’s crisis needed solutions other than military intervention, Larijani said internal negotiations was the only way to end crisis in the country.

Iran's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, while reporting the latest political developments in the region, presented the ways and suggestions to end the crisis in Yemen.
