Jahangiri who accompanies Khatami in his trip to Venezuela told reporters that the Iranian and Venezuelan officials will sign more than twenty agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in different fields.
“The two countries will sign agreements on promoting and supporting the investment, removing the double-taxation, shipping and maritime trading, as well as geological and mineral issues”, the minister said.
He added that the two parts will also ink MOUs on oil, gas and petrochemicals.
The construction of 10,000 residential units, renovation of seven silos, establishment of 100 manufacturing factories of plastic parts are among other issues agreed by the two parts.
Jahangiri also referred to the tractor manufacturing factory which has been set up in Venezuela in cooperation with Iran, stating that the factory is due to become operational in the presence of President Khatami.
He further noted that the said factory has the production capacity of 5000 tractors per annum and has been established at the capital worth $43m.
Iran and Venezuela have come to the agreement to build a cement factory in Venezuela, which is of the worth of over $200m, the minister expressed.
