West should continue talks by good will: Takht Ravanchi

TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Iran Deputy FM for European and American Affairs said during the Lausanne negotiations, solutions have been specified and we hope the other side would continue the path of reaching an agreement by good will.

Majid Takht Ravanchi, made the remarks during his meeting with Andrejs Pildegovics, his Latvian counterpart, who is visiting Tehran on an invitation by Iranian side to discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation.

Welcoming the promotion of Iran-Latvia political relations, Takht Ravanchi stressed the high capacity of both countries to cooperate and noted the fields of energy, petro chemistry, transportation, agriculture, environment, technology, and science as possible arenas of cooperation.

He also hailed the formation of parliamentary friendship group and exchange of trade delegations.

As a senior member of Iran negotiation team in nuclear talks, Takht Ravanchi emphasized the removal of sanctions and expressed hope the Western side to resume the process in a well-intentioned way.

The Latvian official, meanwhile, noted the new level of bilateral relations of Iran and Latvia and expressed hope for further extension of ties.

He asserted that Latvia, as the periodical head of Council of Europe, is satisfied with the procedure of Iran-Latvia and Iran-Europe relations.

“There is a great opportunity to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue and on the condition of reaching an agreement, Iran-Europe ties would extend heavily,” he added.

Latvian official also welcomed establishing parliamentary groups, exchange of delegations, and extension of cultural ties.

He expressed hope the first joint transportation commission of Iran and Latvia to be held during the next year in Riga, Latvia Capital.
