TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – Amirkabir University researchers produced chemical cars with environmentally friendly fuel, the results of which is going to be used in the automotive industry in the near future.

In order to solve the energy crisis in the future, some of the researchers of Amirkabir University of Technology produced chemical cars with environmentally friendly fuel.

Pointing to the Fossil resources, the project manager Jaber Nasrollah Gavgani told Mehr News that this type of fuel resources were nearly over. Therefore, he said, many researchers across the world have begun studies for the production of alternative fuels and hybrid solar cells.

He added the studies focused on construction of Chemical cars (Chem-e-car) by using green fuels.

Describing Chemical cars, Gavgani said these cars are chemical vehicles constructed by a simple decomposition reaction of hydrogen peroxide as the driving force.

The project manager said the innovative fuel for this type of car is hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate, adding that the vehicle is designed to stop after traveling 30 meters.

Noting that the chassis of the vehicle is made of PET preforms, Gavgani said the polymer is selected due to its suitable price, low weight and high strength.

He pointed to the application of the results of the study, noting that technical knowledge gained from the research project could be used in developed automotive industry in the near future.

A green vehicle or environmentally friendly vehicle is a road motor vehicle that produces less harmful impacts to the environment than comparable conventional internal combustion engine vehicles running on gasoline or diesel, or one that uses certain alternative fuels.
