Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif and foreign ministers and secretaries of the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany held a new round of talks at 9:00 local time today in Swiss city of Lausanne to bridge differences on the outstanding issues of Tehran’s nuclear program.
Along with foreign ministers of Iran and the 5+1, EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini is also present in the meeting. Last night, 5+1 held nuclear talks without the presence of representatives from Iran.
Since yesterday, Western media has been trying to influence the prevailing media atmosphere on nuclear talks by publishing news on tentative agreement, which was denied by senior member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team saying that, ‘no agreement has been reached so far and negotiations are likely to continue until tomorrow.”
On Sunday, Zarif held separate bilateral talks with his Chinese, German, British and Russian counterparts over the outstanding issues between the parties to the negotiations.
The final stage of the talks in Lausanne is expected to continue until Tuesday, March 31, which was set as a deadline for reaching mutual understanding in the Iran-5+1 negotiations.
