Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari made the comment on Saturday in the city of Ramhormuz in Khuzestan Province.
He maintained that the Israeli regime was itself fully aware that its downfall was imminent due to the fact that Hezbollah’s missiles now covered the entire range of the occupied territory of Palestine; “the regime is making every attempt to render the threat ineffective but it will be to no avail,” he said.
He also pointed to the threat posed by the ISIL, which was ‘formed 15 years ago by the enemies of the Islamic Republic’ as a countermeasure against the Islamic Awakening and the export of Iran’s Islamic Revolution to other countries.
“Another aim of this terrorist group was to prevent the alliance of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon but this plan has backfired and only made this unity all the more powerful,” said Jafari, noting the only ‘illegitimate state’ fearful of this unity is Israel.
