Long path towards final agreement: Zarif

GENEVA, Feb. 24 (MNA) – Following the talks with his US counterpart, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif, while pointing to some progress made in some issues discussed, said we have still a long path ahead to reach a final agreement.

At the end of Iran-US meetings in Geneva, Iran’s FM Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters that serious, useful and constructive discussions have been made with 5+1 countries, particularly the American side, over the last three days.

Zarif, while pointing to some progress made on some issues, underlined that there still remained a long path to reach a final agreement.

Once again, Zarif stressed a principle held by Iran’s negotiating team in nuclear talks; “no general or detailed agreement is possible, unless an agreement on everything.”

Iranian FM also announced that next round of talks would continue on the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council meeting next week. Zarif also expressed gratitude to the Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Dr Salehi for his effective presence in the course of negotiations.
