Iranian inventor builds heat exchange refrigerator

TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) – An Iranian inventor has built a refrigerator which uses the cold from its environment instead of consuming energy to cool the food products.

Hamidreza Angabini, inventor of ‘heat exchange refrigerator’, told Mehr News that this kind of refrigerator has been made with the objective to reduce energy consumption.

“The idea of the heat exchange refrigerator is that during the cold days of the year there won’t be any need to consume energy for cooling; instead the refrigerator uses the coolness from the environment to keep the food products cold,” he explained.

Angabini noted that this refrigerator produces constant temperature and stores energy to use when the weather is hot.

While maintaining that a pilot of this refrigerator has been built, he added its major application was in cooling industries and large-scale industrial refrigeration, but its initial prototype had been applied on a house refrigerator, showing that it could also be used on small-scale fridges.

“These refrigerators can work in the worst possible conditions although their main efficiency shows itself on large industrial refrigeration,” he said.
